Key Responsibilities
Instructional Duties
- Curriculum Delivery: Teach Physics to students in grades XI and XII (or equivalent senior secondary levels), strictly adhering to the prescribed curriculum (e.g., CBSE, ICSE, or State Boards).
- Lesson Planning: Develop and prepare comprehensive, engaging, and challenging lesson plans, utilizing various teaching methodologies and resources.
- Practical Application: Design and supervise laboratory sessions and practical experiments, ensuring students develop hands-on skills and a deep understanding of experimental procedures and data analysis.
- Technology Integration: Incorporate relevant educational technology, simulations, and multimedia tools to enhance the learning experience and illustrate complex physical concepts.
Assessment and Evaluation
- Continuous Assessment: Regularly evaluate students’ understanding through formative and summative assessments, including quizzes, tests, projects, and assignments.
- Examination Preparation: Prepare students for board examinations, internal school examinations, and guide them for competitive entrance exams (e.g., JEE, NEET) by conducting specialized review sessions and mock tests.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of students’ performance, attendance, and progress.
- Feedback: Provide constructive and timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and areas for improvement.
Academic and Professional Development
- Subject Mastery: Stay updated with the latest advancements in Physics, changes in the curriculum, and modern pedagogical techniques.
- Professional Development: Actively participate in departmental meetings, workshops, seminars, and training programs to continually enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
- Resource Development: Contribute to the development and curation of departmental teaching materials, question banks, and laboratory resources.
Mentoring and Guidance
- Student Support: Offer academic guidance and counseling to students, helping them manage academic stress and make informed decisions about their future career paths in science and technology.
- Discipline: Maintain a positive, orderly, and disciplined learning environment in the classroom and laboratory.
- Co-curricular Activities: Organize and participate in science clubs, fairs, exhibitions, and educational field trips to promote interest in Physics and science.
Essential Qualifications
Education
- Post-Graduation: A Master’s degree (M.Sc. in Physics/Applied Physics/Electronics or an equivalent qualification) from a recognized university.
- Professional Qualification: A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or an equivalent teaching qualification is mandatory.
- Eligibility: Must satisfy any eligibility criteria mandated by the government or educational board (e.g., qualifying in a Teacher Eligibility Test/TET, or other state/national level tests, where applicable).
Experience
- Minimum of 2-5 years of teaching experience as a Physics teacher at the senior secondary level (XI and XII) is typically preferred.
- Experience in successfully preparing students for board and competitive examinations is highly desirable.
