The primary duties of a physics teacher include:
- Instruction and Curriculum Delivery:
- Teaching a full course load of physics classes, which may include introductory, advanced placement (AP), or specialized topics.
- Developing and updating engaging lesson plans, assignments, and instructional materials that align with curriculum standards.
- Presenting complex physical theories and mathematical concepts in an accessible manner using lectures, discussions, and technology.
- Laboratory Management and Safety:
- Designing, organizing, and supervising hands-on laboratory experiments and demonstrations to reinforce theoretical concepts.
- Ensuring a safe learning environment and proper usage of lab equipment, chemicals, and tools.
- Maintaining, ordering, and inventorying lab supplies and apparatus.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Creating, administering, and grading various assessments (quizzes, tests, projects, reports) to evaluate student comprehension.
- Providing timely and constructive feedback on student work and performance.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance.
- Student Support and Mentorship:
- Offering individual assistance and tutoring to students who need extra help.
- Fostering a stimulating and positive learning atmosphere that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
- Communicating effectively with students, parents, and guardians about academic performance and behavior.
